SCC Part 2

Geomancers

Funny Names
Ramza: Hippie #1
Others: Hippie # 2-5... what? It's not like Geomancers are in other games!!
Well, I've done this one, so here's the link.

Lancers

Funny Names
Scorpion (Spear! Get over here!), Zig (move zig... for great justice, TAKE OFF EVERY ZIG), Ziggy (see before), Going Up, Going Down...
Another one I've done, so the link is there.

Mediators

Funny Names
Ramza: Daravon. Why? When he uses "Mimic Daravon", it's really him going into a diatribe about how he mimics himself. Or something like that.
Females: Just pick names of your least-liked teachers.
Well, these are one of the few things that can alter Brave and Faith. They can use Threaten on enemies, they get guns, Mimic Daravon, and Invite. Of course, they have lousy attacks at first, a ridiculously low Invite rate, a pointless reaction, lousy movement, and just difficulty at the start.
Anti-Magic: Think about it. You can use Berserk to stop a mage from charging, you can make him be about useless if it's a rod-wearer. Or you can just cast 2 Solutions on him. Or heck, chickens can't cast magic, so use Threaten!
Threaten: Well, it sure is fun to fight a swarm of chickens. Especially when said chickens are guarding a certain sluice (hint,hint)...
Death Sentence AI Abuse: They figure, if you're on Death Sentence, you'll die anyway. So they ignore you. Angel Rings stop the Death Sentence from killing you. So... you can put the smite on them while they wait for you to die, then when it hits 0... you don't die!
Persuade Cycle: Stagger your turns, and as Persuade puts them down to 0 CT, you shoot them. Then you Persuade them again. Really good if you're faster than they are. If not, it won't help as much. This is the standard Altima strategy, if you're wondering. (They can be faster than Altima- 8 speed innate helps. That's level 35. Thief Hats allow this.)

Oracle

Funny Names
Ramza: Yin Yang Mage... what?
Others: Lulu (FFX's Black Magic included status magic), Petrifier... there aren't many female Oracles in gaming...
Well, another "unsung hero" class. They have Petrify, Innocent, Defense UP, Move-MP up, MP Absorb, range 2 attack that's actually decent, and mage killing. Of course, they rely on % way too much for some people, especially those who are cursed with unluckiness.
Hey, Paralyze is decent. It stops them from acting, and eliminates Evasion and Reactions
Silence Song can stop mages, but some have Golden Hairpins, so you should use...
Doubt Faith. Inflicts Innocent. Problem is, now you can't magic them. So, use...
Blind Rage- this is really good, especially if they are using a rod. If they are using sticks, you might be signing your own death warrant.
Pray Faith is great in a combo. Faith-Petrify is amazingly accurate. If you are a distance away, Faith yourself, then get in and Faith-Petrify them.
Foxbird AKA the Chicken Coop Spell. 2 will turn almost anyone into a Chicken. 3 is guaranteed to Chickenify them. This works wonders at a certain Sluice.
Life Drain is the Zodiac Killer. It works like Demi+Drain all at once.
Spell Absorb is an excellent MP-buster. It also works great to help level up. Spell Absorb+Absorb Used MP will really help.
Fear The Undead: Don't bother trying to Life Drain them, it works backwards. Instead, try Faith-Petrify or sticking it to them.
Lionel Castle: Well, Gafgarion can be put to sleep. This isn't always feasible, so just Zombie yourself first round. Now, as long as you stay out of range, you've got him. Wear Rubber Shoes and Berserk the Summoner. No trouble at all.
Balk: Well, Doubt Faith stops Elemental Guns. Don't bother against Balk since you have Rubber Shoes+Thief Hat, but the Chemist is a prime candidate. Use Faith-Petrify to slay the monsters. Life Drain will eliminate the Balk Threat.

Ninja

Funny Names
Kage Maru (Virtua Fighter), Grey Fox (Metal Gear), ZoomZoom, SwordChucker (for all you 8-Bit Theater fans)
Yup, another one I've done. Click the link.

Samurai

Funny Names
Musashi, the default names... There aren't many Samurai in gaming.
Oy. The most expensive job in all of Tactics. You have a ridiculous amount of gil in chapter one, as they are "weaponless wonders"- Katanas aren't available until Lionel Castle. Of course, they do get Blade Grasp to evade. That will carry you through chapter one. Do note, you cannot steal Masamune from Elmdor or Move-Find the Chirijiraden.
Meatbone Slash: The Weigraf killer. Very good, but risky.
Blade Grasp: Jeesh, all that armor, and you still get Br% evade? Of course, Zodiac demons laugh at this.
Two Hands: Well, this increases attack damage by a worthwhile amount. Better than nothing.
Draw Out: Also known as the Sword Smasher or the Money Breaker, this is essentially the equivalent of Throw Gil from the earlier FFs. You have a 15% chance of breaking a Katana every time you use it. You had better get around 30 before entering Orbonne, unless you plan on using just physical attacks.
Fovoham Plains: Actually, I'd recommend hoping for the best with Meatbone Slash, unlike Munki's strategy. Then again, I haven't done this...
Lionel Castle: Rubber Shoes on all but Ramza, and just work on whittling them away. Remember, Ramza revives when Gafgarion dies.

Bard

Funny Names
Spoony, Edward, any of your preferred singers.
Well, they get Move+3, Cheer Song, Battle Song, Harps, and a drain-inducing weapon. Plus, they're spoony! Of course, they have craptacular stats, no damaging skills, reliance on Battle Song, and their songs have a 50% hit rate, which seemingly drops to 1% when you really need it.
Note that Battle Song combined with Fists gives a quadratic increase. To see what I mean, whip out your TI-83+ and input this:
X*iPart(X*.7)
And set your Xmin to 0, Xmax to 99, Ymin to 0, Ymax to 999. Notice how you only need around 40 PA to do 999 damage? Well, you're not gonna get that high. But, the higher your PA goes, the more your damage goes up by. Heck, 10 PA yields 70 damage. 15, however, yields 150. Now, 20 yields 280. Notice how much more they start to increase by? Unfortunately, you probably will never reach much over 20. You do get the chance to run away, thanks to move+3. They have the most ridiculous PA growth. One PA at level one, two at levels 29 and up. Oy.
Now, for an interesting AI abuse trick, called "The Trance". If you have enough life songs that all enemy damage would be negated, they will choose to wait instead. This lasts long enough, but once they can gang up on one, they will.
Lionel Castle: The funniest battle in the SCC. Use Fly to gang up on Gafgarion, then just sing songs until you feel like you're tired of it. Getting 99 PA, 99 MA, 50 Sp, and max HP is recommended. Even if you break the level cap, it's OK, because it's the entry level that counts. Well, now that you have your OmegaBards, just smite the holy heck out of them.
I'm not even gonna bother with battle strategies, as they'd all just be plagiarized from Munki's FAQ.

Dancer

Funny Names
Ramza as a Bard: Spoony
Ramza as a Dancer: Transvestite or anything in this vein
Dancers: Preferred types of dances
Well, there are two ways to do this. One is to make Ramza female via GameShark and make him a dancer. The other is to leave him as a Bard. Either way, you will have 4 females with you.
Now, they have Wiznaibus (which is your main way of dealing damage), Nameless Dance (isn't that the name?), Slow Dance, Last Dance, Fly, and 2-panel attacks. Of course, they have almost as hard battles as Bards, low HP, and the same 50% hit rate that seems to drop to 1% when you need it. Hey, this SCC is also a location to find a really funny typo in Munki's FAQ, reproduced here in its entirety.
Note: While I do recommend, if possible, using a Gameshark to have a
complete team of Dancers, since the simply majority of players out
there don't own a Dancer, strategies, unless otherwise noted, should
be used with a Bard + 4 Dancer party.

"Own a Dancer"? OK then... Anyway, here are the strategies:
Wiznaibus and Slow Dance are almost a necessity. If using Bard Ramza, he should be singing Life Song or Battle Song (to increase Wiznaibus damage).
Lionel Castle: Bwahahah... even funnier than the Bard fight here. Just Fly over to Gafgarion, then just use Wiznaibus to finish the battle. Oh wait, that's no fun! Torture them first. Make them all have 1 PA, 1 MA, 1 Sp, 0 MP, and a bunch of status effects first. Meanwhile, Ramza should be singing Life Song followed by Battle Song then some of the others just for the heck of it (if a Bard).
I'm not going to post any other specific strategies, because I don't really know how you would do many of them.
Slooooooooowwwww as a 56k modem: Using Slow Dance can really save you. If you're stuck, use Slow Dance and Angel Rings to try to win the fight.

Mime

Funny Names
Copycat, Mimic, Punchy, Mime, Clown, Stupid Dresser, etc...
Yes, it's been done. They have unbelievable HP, PA (and the rest of the stats, but they're irrelevant), Thief speed, and innate Concentrate and Martial Arts. So what do you have? Monks sans Punch Art, sans equipment, sans reactions, but they do get Concentrate. Of course, you do know that Mimes have the best stat growth in the game, right?
The biggest flaw with Mimes? Since it would cause endless looping, Mimes don't let Mimes mime other Mimes --but-- they can Mime guests. Surround Zalera, and watch what happens when Meliadoul attacks a Skeleton. Or have Delita with Item and watch him Potion himself, and see the mimes Potion themselves. Just realize that "special" skills cannot be mimed. By "special" I mean skills outside of the normal 20 jobs. IE: Holy Explosion.

Calculator

Funny Names
Male: Euler, Euclid, Pythagoras, etc...
Female: Ada Byron, etc...
Just name mathematicians.
There are two methods to do this: "TrueCalcs" and "CrysCalcs".

TrueCalcs

This is the one officially sanctioned as an SCC. The reason Calculators are barred from using Mathskill in this is quite simple. CT5Fire? Nope. CT and 5 are not illegal. Now, Fire is not a Calculator move, hence they cannot use it. So, that leaves you with what? Move-Get EXP and Damage Split. The latter is key to winning.
Of course, they start with 3 speed. 3. What does this mean? They go twice before you even get to go. So what do you do? Make Delita a Summoner. He'll do all the work for you. If you make Delita another class, he will be too fast and will waltz into the battle and get killed while charging.
After the guests are gone, you have to deal with battles yourself, but by then, you get to use range 2 sticks. Damage split is still helpful, and you now deal more than 3 damage! Of course, you still have 3 speed until Green Berets become available or you get to level 35. Luck is key to this SCC. There isn't much help I can offer, so my apologies. There is, however, a strategy for the final dungeon. Using P Bags and Move-Get EXP you can get level 99 in the final dungeon. Rely on this.

Crystal Calcs

These are allowed to use spells, but only the ones they pick up from crystals. This makes the beginning be just as hard, but now, starting at Sand Rat Cellar, you might be able to cast spells. Hope for Bolt. Why? Rubber Shoes makes them "chibi-dancers". There are 2 Wizards at Dorter, none at Sand Rat Cellar, two Priests at the Thieves' Fort, a few mages at Lenalia, and a pair of Wizards at Fort Zeakden. Hopefully by Chapter 2 you will have at least 2 or 3 people with Bolt. Later on in the game, you can fight random mages for spells. In the Murond Holy Place battle, you can hope that Priest knows Holy. It's possible, just like this SCC. Just not highly likely.
